SPBA Appoints Nova’s Chief Business Development & Product Officer to its Board of Directors
Nova’s Chief Business Development & Product Officer Named
to Board of Directors for Society of Professional Benefit Administrators (SPBA)
SPBA is the Leading National Association of Third-Party Benefit Administrators
Buffalo, NY, June 3, 2024 - Nova Healthcare Administrators, Inc.’s chief business development & product officer, Jamie Farrell, was recently named to the board of directors of the Society of Professional Benefit Administrators (SPBA), effective June 1, 2024. Farrell will serve as an emerging professional member representative for a one-year term with the board of SPBA, the national association of third-party administration (TPA) firms that manage client employee benefit plans. SPBA provides information and insights related to existing and proposed legislation, regulations and guidance affecting employee benefit plan administration.
Farrell brings 18 years of experience across a variety of areas in the self-funded insurance industry to this board position. In her current role at Nova, she leads product strategy and new business, with the goal of ensuring programs and service offerings are exceeding stakeholder expectations to drive overall company growth and profitability, with a focus on Nova’s private-labeled line of business. She also has experience in marketing, communications, network solutions, data analytics, clinical software administration, medical management operations and regulatory compliance. Farrell has been a member of SPBA for 11 years and is eager to expand and contribute her knowledge by serving on the organization’s board.
“The TPA industry is very complex, and we are constantly challenged by balancing new and ever-changing regulations with evolving industry trends, product innovation, and customization for each employer client,” Farrell said. “I am excited about the opportunity to contribute my ideas with an organization whose mission is to address these challenges head on, as a trusted expert for other TPAs and organizations serving self-funded employers.”
“We are excited to have Jamie Farrell serve as the emerging professional member representative on the SPBA Board of Directors,” said Anne Lennan, SPBA President. “Her passion for enhancing the TPA industry will be a great asset to our organization.”
In addition to Farrell’s emerging professional spot, SPBA’s board includes nine directors representing TPA member firms. Since 1975, SPBA has been the premier resource for TPAs, as well as for Service Partners and Stop-Loss Partners to learn about the key regulatory and legislative issues that impact their businesses. It is a critical forum to engage in dialogue with key opinion leaders about these issues, and a sounding board for those who write and enact employee benefit policies. SPBA’s team works to share breaking news, analysis, and critical information that its members need to guide their clients, brokers, and other partners.
